Our letter to Patrick Thomas, writer for Beverly Review

We are providing the entire email we wrote to Patrick Thomas after he asked us for information regarding us and our blog(s) regarding the Car Wash and 115th and Kedzie.

We are more than happy to chat via email about anything that we have received regarding crime in the Mount Greenwood area. Most of the information that we receive is via emails and postings on our blogsite, http://mtgreenwoodprotection.blogspot.com/. If you are interested in finding the specifics regarding what was posted, please review our postings on our site.

Beyond that, we do not have any more specific information regarding 115th and Kedzie. It seems that some people have been reporting sightings of gang bangers and just the general ignorance that appears to be invading the neighborhood from points outside. We have our own concerns regarding that corner as posted in our blog. We are just getting ready to post something new that we received from our email. If you were looking for more specific information, we do not have any as of yet. But we are still getting hints from people regarding that area.

As far as who we are, we cannot say. The city has a funny way of attacking those that seem to point out the city's and politician's shortcomings. Our staff is hesitant about revealing themselves because they fear retribution from their politicians, bosses and whoever else might not be happy with what we discover or have to say. We have seemed to have tapped into the pulse of the neighborhood. Residents appear fed up with the lack of police protection they are receiving for the amount of money they are paying. Our main goal is to alert our neighborhood of crime and potential suspects. We have heard through the grapevine that our efforts might have help in the apprehension of a burglary suspect which is great for the neighborhood. Secondary goals are to call out those in power for not giving the residents of Mt. Greenwood the protection they pay for. Our readers may also be in the process of starting some sort of neighborhood watch in order to assist with the security of our community. We would be more than happy to assist them in anyway we can.

Any other questions, feel free to ask.

116th Street and St Louis there was a male black in a yellow van going door to door. When confronted he asked if anyone ordered food.

They got an answer for everything don't they? Unfortunately, if we had police patrols, or police that were able to respond and question this nice young man, he probably had active warrants which would have put his ass where he couldn't do any more harm than he's probably already done.

Maybe he could drive his van around looking for a fucking job, instead of casing a neighborhood.

glad to hear he was confronted. nice job!! born liars, amazing. keep it up folks. challenge these fools. if they're not wearing an id for a utility company etc. they are up to no good. i have never in my life had a male black deliver food nor have i seen it. i don't trust the mail carriers, the service sucks!! i would be willing to bet they relay info to their thug relatives about homes and yards in the neighborhood where homes seem to be unoccupied and who might not be home. since i get the wrong mail 3 times a wk and mine ends up on lawns 10 houses away while shitquieda delivers while on cell phone telling slick willie the house on the block is on vacation

My mail lady is on the phone constantly. All up and down the block. Yesterday I got mail for three other neighbors. I've never seen a culture run down every single institution they whine their way into. Post office used to be a good job to have. And used to work a lot better too.

Its a male white and a male black driving a yellow van with florida plates.bullshit scam about selling food.

The male black came to my door and told my son they had a food delivery. My son said "uh no" came and told me. I went and checked it out and found it strange that the van was parked out in front and the 2 guys were walking house to house so I called 911. The police showed up but just shagged them away. Did they do contact cards? This was on 116th and homan.

Just shagged them away? If they are lying about what they are doing there, isn't that enough to run the plate, drivers licenses, check their identity to make sure they don't have warrants? Weapons? Burglary tools. What the fuck? I would have been standing out on that curb demanding they do more than "shag" them away.

Maybe getting coffee at 7-11 on 103rd & Sawyer is more important. So far, there have been reports of some female officer parked there reading. And one day while driving by I saw 3-4 police cars parked in the lot and on the street.

C'mon. Do your job.

It's not about people taking a break, everyone deserves a break...but 2211 had another footchase on the east end of the district the other day! WTF! I'm writing a letter to the commander and the alderman with the signatures of all my neighbors. I'm also willing to create a petition if people want. I've had enough. Before they come on here and tell me to "kma" and my patch says "Chicago police" save it! This is why people with 2-3 years on should be in the ghetto. Also, I have 11years I work in 5 and will go to 022, whenever they open a bid up! I'd be the first one to thank you and buy your dinner when you do good, but when you go to the ghetto to chase some shithead for a bag of weed you're being an asshole.

Are you surprised? The only cops working 22 are the ones with clout and a phone call. You think they give a shit? They're in a decent area and they could give a fuck about us.

I'm a retired Chicago cop, who had worked for a time in 022; by and large, the cops wih the WORST attitudes about protecting Beverly/Mt Greenwood were the ones who lived there. The officers who did give a dam about protecting "the homeland" were in the minority.

Well guess what. THAT'S about to change. Because people are watching and if they don't do their jobs there are going to be headaches, 911 calls, 311 calls and lots and lots of negative community buzz.

Do what you're paid to do.

If citizens start feeling unsafe, then there will be more acts of vigilantism. Especially here in Mt. G. We are a proud community who do not like to be or live in fear. People had better start watching over our neighborhood, before things get really ugly. Thugs are going to get a lesson in history why you shouldn't mess with "Candyland" and that is certain.

There are some very good cops in 022 that got there by bidding every time there was an opening., NOT with a phone call or clout. And guess what they DO care about what happens.

Not without having a race card thrown at them. There's alot some of them would like to say but can't because it will be held against them.

I hear you loud and clear, but the race card needs to be retired. And more people need to start pushing back when confronted with it. You do your job, follow policy and procedure, let the criminal records speak for criminals and let the race card take care of itself.

Everyone in the freaking world is tired of this race card. I don't know a white person anymore who hasn't had the race card thrown in their face at one time or another by people who aren't worth spit on the sidewalk. It's an excuse for everything that is wrong with their culture.

I believe Wortham changed everything. This thing that blacks have about not airing dirty laundry is a throwback to slavery and civil rights. If you don't see decent, law-abiding, successful middle-class African Americans uniting against the plague that has infiltrated neighborhoods everywhere, then they all deserve each other.

There is a little something called reverse discrimination.

Use it.
