No one is crying (edit for spelling/grammar...sorry, our writer was tired)

We read a couple of comments regarding people 'whining' about the location of 2211. We don't consider it 'whining' as much as pointing out the lack of police service on the beat. One comment called it 'whining' while at the same time stated that downtown doesn't care about us on the west end of the 22nd District.

Exactly our point. We talk about the location of 2211 and the administrative moves in the department because no one cares about us, but us. All of our calls and complaints do not get any action. Yet, at the same time, our money gets siphoned from our pockets while there are areas in the city that get all of the service for less or no money.

What does that leave us with? Well, the only thing that we can do is come together and express everything that we see and know about what is happening in our city and our community. If we all realize that we are upset with the same thing, then we are a mass of people that have a problem that the city has to deal with or...

...we as a voting block, (and a large one at that) will have the knowledge to vote out those in power and put new people in power until we get what we want.

And what do we want? Either more police protection or lower our taxes to a level that truly relfects the services the city realistically can and do supply us. We need to stop funding the city services for people in the city that do nothing but siphon the resources of our citizens for a return of absolutely nothing.

Call in whining, call it complaining, call in whatever you like. We call it a problem and we choose to not sit on our asses and let it keep happening. We choose to make people aware of what is going on. We choose to educate the populace and we trust our community to make the right decisions based on the information at hand.

You don't have to convince me and personally, I don't think you should have to explain or make excuses to people who are posting over a glass of scotch after a bad day.

You're doing a service. You're not getting anything out of it other than trying to get what we have coming to us and that is police coverage of an area that can go to shit fast if something pro-active is not done.

If nothing happens for awhile---great. I intend to check in frequently just to make sure I know what's going on in the area where I live.

Thanks for the time and energy you're putting into this blog. It's providing a valuable service to the community and filling a void that has resulted in our needs going unmet for quite some time.

The people who bitch about crying or whining are fools. We just want a safe neighborhood and want city services to reflect the amount of taxes we pay. Nothing more, nothing less. I would like to see the police patrol my block proactively instead of reactively. Police presence deters crime. Reactive police presence only deter's the criminals who are foolish enough to stick around long enough to get caught. The neighbor looking out the window, or rolling around the block to take a second look at a suspicious character, or calling the police on suspicious activity is the one who deter's crime. The zombie who says to himself "that looks odd but it's not my house or car" is the person who allows our neighborhood to turn to shit. I know plenty of police and none of them ever complain about responding to a suspicious person only to find out it's the homeowner who locked himself out. We pay plenty of taxes for police & 911, may as well put them to use.

Considering I pay over 10 times that in taxes, I think we are more than deserving of keeping a beat car on our beat. In 006, how many cars are on a given beat at once. A LOT. I can tell you that because I work in 006. How about some beefed up police service in tax paying areas. Thank you, that is all.

Oh, thank you to 2211 who made a traffic stop on 111th and Albany by the bank. Good to see you guys there! Keep it up!!! Love you guys.

screw these lying 19th Ward Politicians and the Mayor. we are being played for Chumps and our tax dollars are going for everything else except us here in Mt. Greenwood. Look at our streets, alleys and parks, loaded with holes, debris, and weeds everywhere. Not enough police protection, and the pols just trying to give away everything to the minority community by using OUR Tax dollars! vote out ALL these Sons of Bitches in the next Elections. Quit being a FOOL, and a Pawn for these Liberal Democrat Politicians. Your tax dollar is being used AGANST you in every way!

we should all appeal real estate taxes in the 19th ward bt 2211

every home with same size lot and approx square footage should be taxed the same , I don't care if my taxes remain the same , but raise taxes of same house in the east end of 19th ward

we're already penalized by payer 2 to 3 times the price and receive less police protection

time for change from mayor down
