115th and Kedzie

From the comments:

  • Black P Stone gangbangers have taken a foothold at 115/Kedzie at the Carwash. They are targeting whites! Threatening passerbys and customers. Things are getting ridiculous now. Gosh, we can't even wash our cars without being hassled by thugs.
19th Ward has no comments. Big surprise.

There are a lot of problems with the 115th and Kedzie corner. We have a Cash America, a car wash, and 2 gas stations. Throw into the mix some low income housing and BOOM, a sight out of Englewood and various other similar parts of the city.

The biggest problem with this area are those apartment buildings located in Merrionette Park. The ilk start their day by roaming the gas stations constantly for numerous 25cent to dollar items and then make their way to the Cash America in an attempt to sell various stolen items that have received. Throw in the car wash as a potential gathering point and we have problems.

There was already a shooting last year at 117th and Kedzie in one of those Merrionette Park apartments. Those apartments offer nothing but trouble. MTGP is sure that the Merrionette Park police are tired of dealing with them as well. Maybe the owners of those apartment buildings, that potentially rent to Section 8, could get some visits from the Merrionette Park building inspectors unless they lower the number of assholes that put in those apartmets. CPD should be showing a strong presence in this area to send the message that their antics are not appreciated or wanted.

Does anyone else out in MTGP Land find it disturbing when gang bangers throw up their gang signs on the way to the cemetery for a fellow banger? Be careful when you travel on 115th near Mt. Hope Cemetery. The bangers will try to stir some problems and they are usually in very large groups. I'd hate to be living directly across from that cemetery.

time to oust the useless Rugai..

FYI just for information, a policeman from MSF or TRU owns and operates that car wash.. I have not seen him for years but I know he is a great guy and a good copper who would not stand for that crap.. If anyone on here can spread the word and find this copper maybe drop him a line to let him know whats going on in his car wash.

The indignity! That MSF or TRU owner had better start checking out his Carwash!!! He's allowing the animal to settle and make a claim. It's no secret. Just look at all the thugs w/ their 22 inch rims with spinners and the truth will set him free. Not sure why 022 is allowing the bangers to congregate??

TRU and MSF are a bunch of useless pricks. They are a bunch of loser wanna be police. They wouldn't know real police work if it hit them in the face.

A resident found a gun in his lawn while he was mowing it. On 16MAY10 Sunday 115th & Spaulding

Regardless of whether or not TRU and MSF are useless pricks, the issue is that the Carwash owner needs to get ahold of his place, before it turns ghetto! He probably doesn't even know all the gang activity occuring in his establishment?
I work in TRU, I will try to find out if he actually works here. Sorry if I don't meet your expectations!

Brother, this loser wanna-be police officer would love to compare my activity to your's hard charger. I work in MSF...Before that I worked in 009, SOS and 006. My buds call me "Purple Shades". Calling me a useless prick was kinda funny. Seeing as how I just returned to the streets after being on IOD for 6 1/2 months for a heart attack and serious knee injury...I'm still raising Hell! This useless prick has always had a copper's back and never backed away from a perilous situation as our fearless leader. For that matter, this useless prick also served my Country and is a proud combat veteran.
You sound like someone who doesn't have a lot of peers at work respecting you? People know me from all over. I am very active in the community as a Windy City Veteran, Oak Lawn Elk and VFW Post 450 member. On Oct 3rd, you'll be seeing me pulling security for 022 District's PO DC Benefit. I devote much of my free time to helping others. Even though I am no longer the President of WCVA, I still have people enlisting my help with Veterans' issues. Instead of being a negative Nancy on here, how about contributing to a solution to the problem at hand?
It is imperative that we ALL work together to make sure Mt. G does not fall to the enemy! If you see a suspicious person and your "cop sense" tingles, then act on it. I assure you, when you think something is wrong, it's because it is.
I love this blog Bro. It is extremely helpful and is paramount to the success of our community. Keep rockin' Sheepdogs!

We are not here to belittle other police officers no matter what unit they work for. That is not the intention of this blog and it will not be allowed to continue in the comments. We have a tough enough job. If you would like to attack other units or coppers, the forum for that is on SecondCityCop. However, if you would like to comment on how MSF and TRU never get detailed to our neighborhood, that is perfectly fine. That issue continues to show how our city and our tax dollars get spent in the areas of the city where they do not pay nearly as much in taxes and for that matter, do not want the police around.

12:14 Wow! Nicely worded man. P-Shades, you WILL always bleed blue brother! Glad to have your crazy ass back on the streets! Be safe.

I WORK IN MSF AND FYI WE ONLY WORK THE WESTSIDE OF CHICAGO AS OF 01 MAY 10. ABOUT 95% OF THE TIME WE ARE IN 015, 025, 011, AND 010. I HOPE TRU STARTS HEADIN OUT HERE TO CLEAR OUT SOME OF THE RIFF-RAFF.

GREAT POST 9:43 PM.

I have issues with some guys from TRU but I do not lump them all into the same catagory.

I ws over by Cork & Kerry picking up my husband after playing bagpipes for a fundraiser. Long story short a kid flashed a gun at me. I saw a TRU team going into Dunkin Donuts and asked for their assistance and was told " Sorry ma'am we are not on citywide" and turned around and walked away from me. This was after I called 911. I do know these officers are from the neighborhood and was SHOCKED to see their lack of help. 022 had a great response time and THANK YOU for your assistance.

actually guys, the copper who ownes the car wash is a very good copper and a very good guy. I can tell you that he has no idea that this type of activity is happening at his car wash. I believe he works in msf and went to marist and is a neighborhood guy. I forgot which team on msf he is on but if he found out he would take care of the problem... maybe he can start to hire a copper to work a side job as security there?? just an idea.

To my "Old" Friend,

I am sure you are better than I in law enforcement. Hell, there are MANY far better coppers than I working in the districts. I know this. I never take what I have for granted. I learn new things everyday from my fellow co-workers whether they are old crusty veterans or newly established rookies. You no doubt are a better copper, I'm not doubting you. All I was trying to convey in my post was that I work in MSF and am not a useless wanna-be. I am simply a person you can depend on in dangerous times. My service in IDOC/SORT, military and CPD confirms that I am a watchful Sheepdog. I have my fellow officers' six at all times.
No, I am not certifiably crazy...nor a force to be reckoned with...I'm just a disciplined individual who is dependable.
As an "old" friend, you know that I try to make a difference. Maybe someday I'll be able to make a difference here in 022?

Purple, I worked with you in the 9th many years back and I'll attest you were "bat shit crazy", but I loved your no nonsense style. You definitely were a force to be dealt with. NEVER CHANGE.

P-Shades, you are crazy, but we love you any way. I'd rather have one loose cannon watching my back than a bunch of cowards watching my back. Apples and oranges Brother. Stay safe.

This is Mark Mayer. My family owns the car wash at 11500 S. Kedzie. I am a chicago police officer. My self, my family members and numerous police officers that use the car wash everyday have not seen this type of activity. We would not stand for it. If someone was approached and offered narcotics. Why weren't the police notified? If someone saw suspicious activity there. Why werent the police notified? If you have information(type of car or suspect description). Call me. My number is 773-837-5294. I talked to numerous police officers that said that none of that activity goes on there. I think alot of people that talk on blogs don't have any real information or facts and dont know what they are talking about. My family and myself personally know customers that are chicago police and fireman who come in with 22inch rims.

To the ANOYMOUS who stated that she was dissappointed with police service after being at Cork-n-Kerrys: There are always two sides to a story. Keep that in mind when people are trying to bash the police (TRU, MSF or whoever). We should all be on the same team. Backstabbing coppers over inaccuracies is part of the problem!

Anonymous said...

I am NOT trying to bash the police. I was just stating an incident that happened to me. There aren't any inaccuracies and I was not AT C&K's, I was just picking up someone there. You are right , there are 2 sides to every story but when someone comes up to you and says someone just flashed a gun at me I feel you should do something, not turn around and walk away. Thats all, I didn't call them any names, I didn't say who they were. I just would have appreciated a little more respect and assistance for the situation. Oh and I DID THANK 022 FOR THEIR GREAT RESPONSE AND ASSISTANCE. I guess that went unnoticed.
