hey, whats with 2211 making an arrest or tvb or whatever it was at 87th and may the other day on third watch?? - midnights in 022 has alot of young officers-most who have only worked in 022. they all make stops and arrest on the east end of 022--even when theyre assigned to 2211. they all say 2211 is boring or too slow. they get offended when theyre told that there are opening in 003, 006 or 007. more residents need to call the alderman and the 022nd dist commander and demand that 2211 and 2211a stay on 2211's beat
- You are right on with the lack of police protection. I work midnites and I monitor zone 9 occasionally and I really get aggravated when 2211 is sent on the snow tows or sent to sit at Racine Courts or on Church. Why are the tax payers on beat 2211,2212 and 2213 loosing police service?
- I love to ed where the ten sector cars in 22 always are... Im not bashing they guys in the ten sector at all because its the jobs they send them on.. I see all the time oemc pulling cars to the east end. I saw 2212 was given a paper/arrest job at 103rd and normal...
- 2211a is regulary assigned jobs that are nowhere near beat 2211. 2211 on midnight (unless it is the regular guys assigned to that car) only patrol EAST of vincennes which is nowhere near beat 2211.
This is a young blog and MTGP does not have the readership of the entire community, but MTGP has not seen any comments that show 2211 and 2211A is always staffed and forced to work on 2211's beat. No comments that the community always sees 2211 patroling the neighborhood. Again, no fault to the officers working the beat, but definitely fault with the bosses and politicians that pull their strings.

your right its not the officers fault at all... unless these officers take it upon themselves to go east to get some "action". thats what I dont like. If you want action or arrests work a 30 sector or 20 sector car. im sure many guys in 022 would rather work 2211 and stay on the beat than go and mess with the animal over east. if your an office assigned to those cars just stay west... its simple. dont be a hero for that one bagger on the east end.. its not the beat officers fault until they choose to go east and look for crap.. if you drive up and down kedzie from 103rd to 115th and 111th from sacramento to pulaski you can get almost anything... the animal passes through all day and has his dirt with him delivering to the hypes in oak lawn, evergreen, alsip and merionette park....stay west.
2211 is always staffed---1 man on the day shift and 2 man on afternoons and mids. 2211a is only up from 4p-midn
2211 GOES WHERE IT IS SENT.
IT IS THE UNDERSTAFFING OF CPD, INCREASED RETIREMENTS AND NO RECRUITS THAT LEAVES 2211 WITHOUT PROTECTION.
AND THAT SEEMS TO BE O.K. WITH THE COMMANDER AND ALDERMAN.
WHY AREN'T MT. GREENWOOD RESIDENTS HOPPING UP AND DOWN ABOUT THIS?
how many police officers are assigned to the caps office in 22?
reassign caps officers to the street , increase primary beats in 22 from 9 to 15 .
22nd district only has 9 beat cars
87th to 119thst from eggleston to pulaski , the wagon is often assigned as a beat car on 1st watch
citizens feel safe but most marked cars driving through bt 2211 are on the way to lunch or a coffee break , sure they'll respond to an emergency call , but they are not here to patrol
We are sitting ducks. That's precisely why we need to find a way to contract with nearby suburbs to provide adequate police protection in Mt. Greenwood.
letters of Complaint must be written to the Mayor's Office about this. we're paying for full time police protection and getting part time at best.....
Ok someone with a scanner invite Ginger over for some coffee and have her listen to where 2211 and 2211A are. She would not know otherwise. She is just TOLD by 22 that these cars are here to protect us.
I don't care what the so-called Alderman said, 2211 and 2211A are staffed, they might be told to not go East, majority of the time they are pulled away by the idiots that run the 22nd district, but I will admit that there are a few PO's that find the 2211 beat boring so they take it upon themselves to go find some action. Those cards are equipped with GPS, why is no one at 22 watching and nailing those PO's that are making the rest of the 2211 PO's look bad!
if your working you can look up where 2211 is and look at the gps... all you have to do on the main page is go to web mapping, then on the bottom of the page there is a small link that says gps feed.. if you click on that then you can see where every car in the city is at.. i look at it alot and you dont even have to log in... many times there are no cars even close to 2211s beat. its a pretty cool thing to look at.
The Commander has to demand that OEMC does not move those two beats under any circumstances (except emergency 10-1, etc) OEMC does not care...they are told to dispatch jobs as quickly as they can. The Commander needs to notify each field supervisor that 2211 and 2211A are to stay on the beat, and if they here them being dispatched outside the beat they need to speak up.
