008th District vs. 022nd District

MTGP has a question. How come the 008th district beat cars that patrol the high tax paying west end of the 008th district are forced to stay on their beats while 2211 and 2211a are sent all over the place at the dispatcher's whim? Who makes that call? Is it the commander of these districts or is it a political force like the alderman? Do the residents of the west end of 008 pay more in taxes than we do on 2211? MTGP asks these questions as it has become blatantly obvious that someone feels the west end of 008 is worth protecting while the west end of 022 could be left to rot. Whoever makes the call in 008 to force the cars to stay west should be commended greatly. The residents of Mt. Greenwood need someone like this to make a similar call around here. Commander? Alderman? MTGP would like to hear the readers opinions or facts on what is happening here and what is happening in 008. We would like to know what the difference is. This is not an attack on the 008th district as those residents are also facing a criminal element entering their community. MTGP just believes that what is good for the goose is good for the gander.

It really is time for a Rally in Mt. Greenwood park to demand that our neighborhood has full police protection 24-7. Otherwise it will just be business as usual all summer long.

We can't depend on the CPD or the 19th Ward to protect 2211. We need to look into contracting with one of the nearby suburbs to provide rapid response in the event of an emergency.

Unlike the CPD, the suburbs always have cars "up and clear" and available to respond.

The Commander has to demand that OEMC does not move those two beats under any circumstances (except emergency 10-1, etc) OEMC does not care...they are told to dispatch jobs as quickly as they can. The Commander needs to notify each field supervisor that 2211 and 2211A are to stay on the beat, and if they here them being dispatched outside the beat they need to speak up.F### the Alderman, they should have no say in Police Operations.

I agree. 022 is starting to get bad whether or not people want to live with blinders on and admit it or not. What's with tact cars in 022 being ordered not to go west of Bell? We are tax paying citizens and we deserve police service as much as anyone else. Wait..especially since we're tax paying citizens dare I say. Robberies and burglaries are more and more here. People who clearly don't live here are boldly walking the streets and alleys and nobody will challenge them.

cmdr kup of 008 makes the decision.. 811, 812 have to say on the beat and 851 must stay on 812 beat and 859 must stay on 811 beat. only good thing is that all 4 cars help each other out and the two beats have all 4 cars servicing it... its all on the commander. sometimes a tac car or 06 car will be pulled to stay on 11 or 12 beat to do a mission or just do police work.

I agree. You sound like the police so you should know that these orders come from well above the commander-deputy A/2 and above call the shots and demand cars at these locations.

I work in 022. I live here too. Guess where I concentrate my time.

Keep calling, keep complaining about the lack of presence. The squeeky wheel gets the grease. Also, encourage the officers who work the beat. when they deserve recognition, give it to them.

what do you know tac cars cant go west of bell...hmmmmmmm, now what street does ginger live on... oh yeah, ginger lives on bell!! tac cars... you work in 022... 2211 and 2212 are part of the 22nd district.. you get your head for the company east then please drive around west to kill the rest of your night... one and done then give people who appreciate the police some help... especially when im at work it would make me feel better if my wife or kids call the police a tac car can run over real quick.

First: Rugai doesn't give a damn VOTE HER OUT!!!!!
Second: We need to stop being afraid of calling the police
Third: I asked about a neighborhood watch and a huge amount of people (3) said they were interested

people get off your ass and start making phone calls!!!

Lets start protesting also. Why should we wait until someone is seriously hurt or killed.

The Commander of 022 is a Rugai puppet

Everyone blames the POLICE but they have to follow orders also..whether they agree or not.

I will have information on THE NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH and a friend who helped set up the one in 008 so if you are interested SHOW UP AT THE MEETING please
