2211 (from comments)

A concern was brought up in the comments about young officers trying to prove something by making arrests while working 2211, but not making those arrests on 2211's beat. MTGP will address this issue.

MTGP would love to see a young, hard charging officer, working 2211's beat. However, we would love to see it working on only 2211's beat. Anyone who works 2211's beat needs to understand something. There are many of your fellow co-workers that live on that beat. When your fellow co-workers leave for work, they leave their families behind in the hopes that their neighbors and their police (i.e. 2211) will be there to protect their families. 2211 has the responsibility of protecting fellow officer's families each and every day at all hours of the day. That is a heavy responsibility, and one that should be rewarded if done properly. The officers working 2211, young and old, need to know what they are a part of. There is a brotherhood and sisterhood within CPD and it extends on and off duty. Please keep this in mind when you are assigned or choose to work 2211.

If officers would like to improve their stats, make those one bag arrests, or impress bosses with their numbers, there are plenty of other beats in the city that would appreciate your efforts, and would welcome you with open arms. The citizens of 2211 are not looking for stats, just effort. Effort of trying to protect the community from external and internal harms. Even if that means a boss may not be happy with your numbers, your community will be.

So, what are you saying? Let our kids do their dope and drink in peace.

I don't think that the post is saying let the kids drink and do dope in peace at all. I think what is being said is if you are working 2211 then work 2211. If you want a one bagger or a drinker then find it on 2211's beat. I for one and glad that the dope house at 107 & Central Park got hit and I'm waiting for the one in the 3300 block of 110th to get hit.

For GENERATIONS, kids of COPS & FIREFIGHTERS, generally, would be the ones to perform at AVERAGE or BELOW average in school, thinking they would simply follow in the family business...now, with the advent of a "smarter" police officer or fire fighter with 60 hrs of college credit, the kids are turning to dope and drink.
There will be those who scream out that I am being BLASPHEMOUS ... but do NOT turn a blind eye to your children. Watch your kids AND their friends.

I think that all the residents want is a steady patrol of their neighborhood without squads being taken out, and 2211 stripped of the little on-duty manpower it already has. Mainly, we just want the everyday problems and complaints handled so they stop and don't re-occur, and to take action in crimes in progress. We do, I believe, want peace, order, and crime prevention here in 2211. There are many inconsiderate screwballs loitering about, especially on weekend nights, drunk and disorderly, and little or nothing is done about it. They are just back the next weekend, being stuipd, belligerent, and obnoxious. Issue some citations, or make a few arrests, if necessary, to stop the nonsense. Residents of 2211 also need to call 911 on disturbances and suspicious persons when spotted, and we shouldn't have to wait for an hour or more for the police to show up, as we are not known for making b.s. complaints to the police, as some neighborhood residents have been doing for years.....

well said, 2211 needs to stay on 2211s beat unless they are ordered off for a call or by a boss. im not gonna bash another copper but i leave my wife and kids everynight and would love to feel secure knowing they are being watched out for... I usually take a pass by the house and through the hood once or twice a night just to make sure all is well.

WE AS RESIDENTS DEMAND ADEQUATE POLICE PROTECTION FOR OUR FAMILIES AT ALL TIMES, AS WE PAY FOR IT WITH OUR TAX DOLLARS. IT IS NOT OUR FAULT THAT THE CITY IS BEING SHOT UP SEVERAL MILES EAST AND NORTH OF HERE. IF IT TAKES A RALLY THIS SUMMER IN MT. GREENWOOD PARK, SO BE IT. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.

kedzie from 103rd to 115th looks like im driving down racine.. 111th from the tracks to pulaski looks like 63rd street and western looks like im driving down 103rd and michigan.. goodbye neighborhood. blame all the "affordable housing" and that moron firefighter who buys property, flips it and rents them out to the animals just to collect rent...not to mention the propertys he sections out. he has several properties along kedzie, and a half dozen or so between sac and kedzie 103rd to 113th... he is the one brining in alot of the animals... he sits at his firehouse in the ghetto and finds tenants by giving flyers to passer bys... pathetic

Name the fireman who is renting out these houses please. I think the City should be made aware of any violations and also the IRS should know of any failure to report income!!!! I would be glad to oblige.

midnights in 022 has alot of young officers-most who have only worked in 022. they all make stops and arrest on the east end of 022--even when theyre assigned to 2211. they all say 2211 is boring or too slow. they get offended when theyre told that there are opening in 003, 006 or 007. more residents need to call the alderman and the 022nd dist commander and demand that 2211 and 2211a stay on 2211's beat

So i heard through the grape vine that 2 young officers patroling 2211's beat pulled a car over and found a weapon in it at 111th and lawndale. but they had to let him go because he had all the rules and regulation followed. i dont know the details.

awesome police work officers im glad your on our beat.

It just seams like you all just complain about each other. I have been checking out this blog for the last few weeks. And it seams like you just complain about each other, Why is that? Mt Greenwood has been my home for over 30 something years. It is just sad to see it go this way. I want more info on the neighborhood watch. I am sorry I could not attend the last meeting. My Dad was sick. I plane on being at the next one. ;)
