Ginger Rugai and alternatives

MTGP has also read a crapload regarding the 19th ward alderman. MTGP has heard everything from Ald. Rugai not controlling the 22nd district to her pulling the strings of the commander in 022. We do not know the truth. However, we do know that the unhappiness in this community is growing. After all, we started this blog and in less than a month with little to no advertising, we have been getting over 200 hits a day and growing.

Communities across America are waking up to the lies that we have been told by those in power. Both nationally, state and locally. Those that are in power have been in power for too long. That power has gotten to our politicians' head and they have become elitists. They feel as if they know better than everyone else and if they can just placate their population with false promises and false hope, then they can stay in power forever. The result of America waking up is going to be a removal of incumbents and those that America sees has having anything to do with the lies, deceit and trouble that we are in.

That should also happen locally. Ald. Rugai is a powerful alderman with some seniority. She is on the police/fire committee in the city council. That is a powerful committee that ultimately has a major say in where the money goes to the police department. Do you think that the powers that be in the police department would listen to her? You bet your ass they would. Including the 022nd district commander.

So, if Ald. Rugai demanded that 2211 and 2211a remained on their beat for the entire tours of duty, I don't think the commander of 022 or anyone above could tell her no.

Add on to this that Alderman Rugai was initially appointed as alderman by Mayor Daley and that should make anyone want to vote out the incumbent.

As for who you vote for, we do not have an opinion as of yet. New blood is always better than old blood. And if the new blood does not work out, vote them out.

The question is; If Ald. Rugai has that power then why doesn't she use to keep 2211 & 2211a over where they belong and if the officers CHOOSE to not stay there then pull them off that car and put someone in it that wants to be.

if ginger had power we 'd have 15 assigned beat cars in 22
not 9 with the wagon down working as a beat car on midnites

it would be really nice to have our beat cars stay on their beats,, but it'snot reality. Crime is happening and the police are short,, they are needed elsewhere. I wish it were different, but thats life in our city,,

22 was short a number of people the other night, that's why the wagon was down working as a beat car. Can't assign cars to beats when you don't have the PO's to staff them. Simple math.

ok here we go again... on 29 may 2010 2211 is sent once again to a burglar alarm at 113 and ADA... then check later and 2211 is east again on a disturbance at 95th and racine.. I know what your saying... its ok, because im sure 2211A is on the beat!! Think again! at the same time 2211A is at a domestic at 118 and hale and 2212 is sent to a job at 103rd and wallace... once again, this is not the beat officers fault but the bosses, sgts and oemc for leaving the west end completly unprotected. after seeing this I looked in web mapping on I clear system and looked up the gps system(which every officer can now utilize) and the closes car to the west end of 022 was at(drumroll please) ....................... the 022nd district station! no cars anywhere west. the cars parked at the station were the closest cars to 2211 beat. absolutly pathetic

I don't care how simple the math is...I pay taxes and I expect/demand police protection. Its in the constitution. This is not a corner that can be cut.

With the city not hiring police this is only a dream the truth of the matter is 22 is short 30 officers to start with like every other district

if you live in Mount Greenwood or West Beverly call 911 anytime you see suspicious activity

That's the only way to keep the cars on the west end of 22

If Ginger is ineffective (doesn't have the power to take care of our needs), we need to replace her with someone who does have the power to take care of our needs.

The year was 2006. The victim was a 14 year old boy with a disability named Ryan Rusch who was a victim of a racially motivated attack by 2 black teenagers in the heart of Rugai's ward (west beverly i think). I dont remember her really going to bat for this kid in the media or demanding this be classified as a hate crime (which i believe it wasnt). This is about as high profile a crime as you can get. If you really think Rugai has any power or really cares refresh your memory:

http://cbschicago.com/local/Ryan.Rusch.Beverly.2.330311.html

I believe the victim was beaten into a coma because as the offenders stated, "he was a goofy looking white boy." If the reverse happened in Humbolt Park or the West Side of Chicago you can bet Ald Ed Smith or Ald Guittierez would have been visible and at least attempted to stand up for their respective communities. Its 4years later, are we really any safer? Has something similar to this happened since then? Has Rugai said done anyting about it? Check the statistics of who the victims and OFFENDERS are in 022.

Had a fun time Saturday watching a drug deal go down as I drove home. The house at 15000 S. St.Louis did the drug transaction right out in the street. Called 911 only to find out 22 was in a backlog at 7pm. 30 minutes after the call the wagon drove by but everyone was gone by then.
The house also has two newer (a couple of months now) pit-bulls in the yard.

TIME TO SWEEP OUT ALL THESE SCAMMING ALDERMEN, WE PAY MUCH TOO HIGH OF TAXES FOR THE HOLE-FILLED STREETS, ALLEYS, DIRTY, UNKEPT PARKS, AND OUR POLICE BEING PULLED FROM OUR NEIGHBORHOOD, THUS ENDANGERING US AND OUR FAMILIES. RUGAI HAS GOTTEN AWAY WITH TOO MUCH FOR TOO LONG. EVEN HER HUSBAND GAVE HER THE BOOT, SO SHOULD WE.

a lot of the time officers assigned to 2211 or 2211a are dispatched well east of western ave. those officers MUST respond to radio assignments. the problem is that the watch commander assign officers to 2211 or 2211A who aggressively patrol well west of western ave and make bullshit arrests over there too. most commonly done on the midnight shift
