Baptist Church Clothing Store

Sounds a little odd to us. Supposedly, per the comments, a black baptist church is planning on opening a clothing resale shop on 111th St. The first question that we have is why? The only answers that we can come up with is that we have the money and they want it. We have the guilt and they can play off of it. They cannot open a shop in their neighborhood because they will not get the income they need to feed their ambitions.

What we do not know is the name of this church, the exact location of the church or what their ambitions are. If the ambitions are innocent ambitions truly in the hopes of helping people, nothing more, then that is fine. There is nothing wrong with a church helping people. We would rather the church or a charity be the ultimate provider of assistance for those in need than our tax dollars and our government. (psst...it used to be that way a LONG time ago) However, if their ambitions are to use that money to promote agendas and political backings of people whose values we do not share, then do not go to this store. Plain and simple. Eventually, if the church realizes that they are not getting the customer base to support the store, they will have to close.

However, before we advocate not going to a resale clothing shop, we would like to know more about this church and what they are planning to do. That and we would like to know if this store is even going to open. We could use some apple bottom jeans and boots with the fur.

I think they chose this location because of incoming inventory not because of sales.

Do you really think most of the residents in Mt Greenwood would visit a resale shop owned by a "black baptist church" They are willing to put the shop here to force racism and intimidate us into saying or doing something wrong. The influx of our neighbors to the east would just take the bus here and wait for a problem to happen. Ginger can stop this if she wants, however it's Mt Greenwood so she wont.

Didn't a local girl just open a resale/vintage clothing store. Isn't in sharing space with the lamp shop? Support her.

OT: Chicago Lawmakers To Offer 5% Kickbacks For Reporting Vacant, Deteriorating Foreclosures In Effort To Persuade Lenders Into Maintaining REOs???

In Chicago, Illinois, CBS2chicago reports:Ratting out your neighbors could have its rewards – at least when it comes to those living near crumbling, foreclosed homes. As CBS 2’s Kristyn Hartman reports, tell the city about one and you could get paid – if an ordinance one alderman is set to propose, passes.

Haven't found the link yet to verify, but what a great way to get rid of some shitboxes.

SO, if the church backs anyone who is also claiming to be for the benefit of the poor, they are bad?

On the periphery, I'm rather indifferent but basically the narrative being offered speaks to me in a pretty direct form: This church, because it represents a non-Catholic/Presbyterian/etc background that would be suggestively white, is guilty until proven innocent.

Or we can roll with the correlation - communities transitioning to a poorer base of residents tend to be dotted with businesses of this nature.

I find the cause of community protection to be a noble one, I'm glad there is something like this, but do you not feel that this observation is a bit of an Editorial piece?

don't forget the baggy sweatpants and the reeboks with the straps

From the way I've seen people dressed walking around the neighborhood, it seems a second hand clothing store would be a step up.

Written by another mentally challenged pro-Ginger liberal white moron. You are a weak-minded, knock-kneed guilt-tripping promoter of the Daley-aldermopes-Dummycrat-revrend-Jesse-Al-Obie Daisy Chain Dancers.

Now pull up your white socks, put on your sandals and go skipping around your garden in Beverly...dimwit.

Everyone needs to stop with the rumors, because that is all they are RUMORS. I have no problem questioning Rugai at CAPS meetings. I've done it before. I asked about the public aide office and Rugai's people said absolutly not. I will ask about the green building and the resale shop at the next meeting. I have no problems putting together a neighborhood meeting and TRYING to get Rugai there so we can have a Q & A. Does this mean what they tell us is true, of course not but at least she will know we are on to her and we can vote her out.

Then we need to get about 50 motorcylists to rev their Harleys up while this is taking place to drown them out. I worked an anti-war rally downtown a few years ago and at the rally in the federal plaza, when the speakers began, a whole bunch of guys and gals on their motorcycles donning American flags circled the block revving their Harleys. It was AWESOME!
GOD Bless the U.S.A.
GOD Bless the C.P.D.

Look, whats wrong with wanting to keep your neighborhood the way it is? White ethnic neighborhoods in the inner city have virutally disappeared and what has replaced them in most instances is FAR worse. Why is it ok for Puerto Ricans in Humbolt Park to advertise "Dont Sell" shirts/banners (namely to whites) so that it stays Puerto Rican. Why is it ok for countless "urban" (black) neighborhoods to rally against "gentrification" (selling to whites) but when working class white ethnic neighborhoods like Mt Greenwood, Beverly, Edison Park, Hells Kitchen (NYC) or South Boston, Massachusetts want to keep the traditional ethnic flavor and houses of worship its "racist." Answer me that. Many people in Harlem NY starting protesting when Bill Clinton opened offices there claiming "original residents" would be pushed out.

Don't let Mt. Greenwood go the way of Beverly!

If we want businesses that represent our culture, we must create, support, and shop at businesses that support our culture.

For all the college educations that are earned by Mt. Greenwood students, why do we have a lack of creativity, business knowledge, and initiative it takes to build businesses in our neighborhood.

The possibilities are endless: book stores, children's clothing boutiques, trendy shops for teens/young adults, coffee shops/wifi cafes, health food stores, computer repair, toy/gift store, dance/music/performing arts academies, etc.

Question---Do you normally talk like this or did you just come here to aggravate everyone? Take your correlation and shove it up your ass. How about that?

Word of advice---you think too fucking much.
