Links on the right

It appears Kohl's is having some sort of support your local school contest. Someone sent us links to both Mt. Greenwood Elementary and Cassell Elementary schools. Take the time to click the link on the right and vote. It appears to be some sort of Facebook Application.

We just hope that the city of Chicago, if one of these schools win, doesn't just remove $500,000 from that schools budget and call it a wash. Kind of like the Illinois lottery money. Either way, it is worth the effort to get our local schools a little extra money from a private entity.

Ok, im not exactly sure as to where to post this, so I will do it here. As someone who does not have the finances to create a business I would like to know how you would go about inviting a business into the area. Like say perhaps a barnes and noble, or a ditkas, something along those lines. or is it something where businesses dont care what people would be interested in unless it is already on their radar. Or is it something where the alderman has to push for something and contact a business?

Wanted to let you and all your readers know there was a shooting at the Bleakers bowling alley in Oak Lawn last night, 31Jul10. I heard about it on the radio. I guess that's another place in our neighborhood we can rule out. Don't know how many of you have been there lately but it's no surprise. Supposedly there was a huge fight inside between patrons which went outside and got even bigger. One "dude" pulls a gun and shoots the other and is then shot by off duty Cook County Sher. police who were working there off duty. When a place has off duty P.O.'s working there, it's ususally not a good sign.

OFF TOPIC:

anyone here about a street robbery about 3 a.m. Saturday at 106/Artesian? Needless to say the victim was leaving a tavern.

To 5:41 a.m.:

the shooting was at 10rd/Cicero bowling alley not Bleekers. For information go on the police blog page:

if you are not familiar with them they have a link to this page on their site. Some pretty funny stuff too!

I heard about an armed robbery at 105 and Artesian. I am assuming it is the same incident.

ooops. You are right. I meant the place on 103rd for the shooting at the bowling alley. Sorry about that. Where's bleakers and which one is on 103rd?

Found this on Shaved:
A vehicle containing several male blacks gunned the gas as they were approaching several white bar patrons who were crossing the street after leaving a bar on the 105th Block of South Western...
When the white males starting to yell at the driver of the car, 4 to 5 shots were fired at the white males by the black males that were inside this vehicle.

It did happen at Bleekers, check any news source. Here is the story at Shaved, not sure where you were reading:

Unofficial Word that 2 People Were Shot At The Brunswick Arena Lanes located at 4700 103rd St in Oak Lawn IL.

Word has now come in that one person was shot in the original shooting at the bowling alley by offender(s), the second person shot and wounded was by an off duty Cook County Sheriff working security at the bowling alley who confronted the shooters.

The bowling alley went up for grabs by the blacks attending a "Party" there and a level 4 ILEAS alarm was activated to control the situation.

Several suburban police officers have written me to say that the influx of ghetto thug and breeders into Oak Lawn via the Section 8 free housing program is destroying the city.
